Jinyoung was a member of the French Aristocracy shortly before the French Revolution. Like the other members of his social class, Jinyoung was living the dream life ignoring the plight of the poor. He was liked well enough to meet the queen on several occasions. Jinyoung's life changed during the French Revolution. Seeing all of the chaos in the streets caused Jinyoung to go into hiding. The rest of his family was executed during the reign of terror. Jinyoung tried his best to maintain a low profile, but he was still caught. Because of his connections with royalty, Jinyoung was sentenced to death. The night before his death Jinyoung was turned into a vampire in jail by his cellmate.The two of them overpowered the guards escaping into Paris. They retreated into the countryside until Napoleon became emperor. The duo quickly became popular in the new culture. When Napolion was exiled, Jinyoung went back into hiding. He laid low with his sire enjoying his life until the first World War when he moved to the America. After the war, he continued traveling between locations until the present day. He now spends more time in America than Europe.

Jinyoung's parents perished in a car crash when he was five years old sending him to an orphanage. His anxious and introverted personality resulted in him being ignored by the people coming in looking to adopt children. Eventually Jinyoung and the rest of the unwanted orphans were adopted into a coven of witches. The witches were members of an older coven who wanted to pass on their teachings to the younger generations before passing away. Instead of being adopted by two parents, he was raised in a big building in a communal environment. He enjoyed living with his fellow witches, but he longed to see the world outside of the coven.After the last generation of witches passed away, Jinyoung and the rest of the coven agreed to spilt the remaining funds and part ways disbanding the coven. Jinyoung settled down gathering the money he received from the coven to open up his own magic store
